About Red Horse Tutoring
SAT tutoring doesn’t have to be interminable, insurmountable or exorbitant. It can actually be abridged, achievable, and affordable.
Through customized one-on-one sessions or small group tutoring sessions, I focus on getting the best results in the shortest amount of time. My students spend, on average, around 5 to 7 hours with me and see great results.
I’d love to work with you and help you achieve the SAT score you desire. In the meantime, you can learn SAT tips and tricks along with a few secrets right here. Subscribe to receive updates.
About me
My name is Stacey Howe-Lott and I’ve been teaching for all of my professional career. It’s what I love to do.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Puget Sound and a Master’s of Education from the University of Virginia.
I have:
- created classroom and online training solutions for Fortune 500 companies
- tutored students in grade-school, high-school, and college
- delivered copious amounts of training to students from 9 to 90
The best thing I learned is how to quickly evaluate gaps in learning and then develop resources to fix the problem.
After leaving the workforce to start a family, I realized the following:
- I hated housework.
- My brain was shrinking by the day due to severe under utilization
- I missed my students
So, naturally, I decided to re-learn the SAT. (If you think it’s hard to learn this stuff at 16, try wrapping your brain around nested functions after 2 decades have passed!) I worked for several national tutoring companies but was disenchanted with their approach. They think students learn at the same pace and in the same way … but they don’t.
I knew there had to be a better way, so I created one.
- Writing 680 (94th percentile)
- Critical Reading 800 (99th percentile)
- Math 650 (85th percentile)
I love what I do, but more importantly, my students love their results after working with me.
I also spend a lot of time in the inner city working on academic and SAT tutoring with disadvantaged students. In fact, I donate 10% of my profits to the DKJ Foundation which focuses on ensuring students graduate on time and attend college. I also keep slots open in my schedule for free tutoring for kids who can’t afford it.
When I’m not inventing better ways to explain arcane vocabulary, or creating math videos, I’m outside vociferously admiring slugs with my four-year-old, creating miracles in the kitchen, or reading a great book!
